Song Comparison - Modern Song Vs The Fool's Song

Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart Lyrics

Even if you were a million miles away
I could still feel you in my bed
near me, touch me, feel me
And even in the bottom of the sea
I can still hear inside my head
Telling me, touch me, feel me
And all the time you were telling me lies

So tonight I’m gonna find a way to make it without you
Tonight I’m gonna find a way to make it without you
I’m gonna hold on to the times that we had
Tonight I’m gonna find a way to make it without you

Have you ever tried sleeping with a broken heart?
Well you can try sleeping in my bed
Lonely, only, nobody ever shut it down like you
You wore the crown, you make my body feel heaven-bound
Why don’t you hold me, need me, I thought you told me
You’d never leave me

Looking in the sky I can see your face
And i knew right where I’d fit in
Take me, make me
You know that I’ll always be in love with you
Right til the end

So tonight I’m gonna find a way to make it without you
Tonight I’m gonna find a way to make it without you
I’m gonna hold onto the times that we had
Tonight I’m gonna find a way to make it without you

Anybody could have told you right from the start
It’s bout fall apart
So rather than hold onto a broken dream
Or just hold onto love
And I could find a way to make it
Don’t hold on too tight
I’ll make it without you tonight

So tonight I’m gonna find a way to make it without you
Tonight I’m gonna find a way to make it without you
I’m gonna hold onto the times that we had
Tonight I’m gonna find a way to make it without you
The Fool in Twelfth Night sang about the vain hope of finding love, which was depicted as throwing a man into a dark coffin. The sad lover would weep forever, but the one that he/she love would never return the flavor. In the similar vein, Trying Sleeping with a Broken Heart showed a heartbroken lover that continuously referred back to her past memories. Through Alicia Keys’ depiction, the bed signified the grief of the lover, which gave a melancholy feeling of a coffin. In contrast, Alicia Keys song signified love that was once found, but then lost. On the other hand, the lovers of Shakespeare’s play did not have the taste of love.

Act 2, Scene 4

Come away, come away, death,
And in sad cypress let me be laid.
Fly away, fly away, breath;
I am slain by a fair cruel maid.
My shroud of white, stuck all with yew,
O, prepare it!
My part of death, no one so true
Did share it.
Not a flower, not a flower sweet,
On my black coffin let there be strown.
Not a friend, not a friend greet
My poor corpse, where my bones shall be thrown.
A thousand thousand sighs to save,
Lay me, O, where
Sad true lover never find my grave,
To weep there!

10 things I hate about you and the Taming of the Shrew Comparison

The three major differences between 10 things I hate about you and the Taming of the Shrew are the focus of the story, the collection of the characters, and the way the author drew their conclusions.
10 things I hate about you focused on the interaction between the two sisters, and eventually lead to mutual understanding and seeking the best partners. On the other hand, the Taming of the Shrew focused on the relationship between the husband and wife. The love that existed between Petruchio and Katherine. The play of Shakespeare narrowed the scope of the tale into the later affairs between the spouses, but the movie includes numerous incidents of couples, best friends, rivals, etc.
10 things I hate about you has a blend of characters, while the Taming of the Shrew relied on a more simplistic approach. Michael was a character in 10 Things I hate about you that constituently sacrificed his own pride to help out his friend Cameron and eventually Patrick. Nevertheless, the Taming of the Shrew presented a more straightforward story that focused on the courage of Petruchio, and omitted the complications that might becloud the theme of the tale.
10 things I hate about you’s climax was the Prom and Taming of the Shrew’s climax was the betting by the husbands about the obedience of their wives. Shakespeare clearly defined his play as a comedy at the scene when Petruchio outsmarted all his opponents. However, the prom of 10 things I hate about you was a gloomy moment that led to poem of confession, the guitar, then the happy ending. The structure of the tales differed. The movie tends to have a denouements and falling action, while the play wrapped up the tale soon after the climax.
10 things I hate about you is not merely an adaptation; it added new elements that were not presented in Shakespeare’s play - the Taming of the Shrew. The blend between pop culture and British Literature has give raise to one of the most intriguing movies of all time.
